After my workshop in Swansea I took the train to London on what was one of the hottest days we’ve seen all summer. The train arrived into London an hour late due to the network taking extra precautions on the hot tracks. The metal of the rails must be different to that in hot countries where temperatures far exceed the 28 degrees we had that day because they travel at normal speed. I had 4 hours to ponder on such things 🙂
London was great, albeit extra vigilent. I saw the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy which was always a pleasure.
This room in particular was bursting with fresh bright colour.
My favourite galleries were numbers V and VII as they were dedicated to print. My favourite pieces were Norman Ackroyd’s  “The Stour In Winter’ and
this screenprinted mono print by Elizabeth Magill, titled ‘Of’. It is huge and just stunning. Interesting that my two favourites are both landscapes.
