I’ve just come back from my autumnal visit to Morecambe Bay, one of my most inspiring landscapes in the UK. I stayed for a couple of days to draw on location, soaking up the vast open estuary views and the hicklety pickelty rocks and shrubs dotted about. In many respects it reminded me of landscape that you would see in the outback, the vastness with the bitty shrubs.
The autumnal colours were just stunning in the soft sunlight.
I managed to squeeze in a few sketches on location. There was no people, wind or flies to bother me. It was absolutely heavenly.
I hope to visit again soon.
