The weekend saw the opening of my new solo exhibition at Porto & Fi on Newhaven Main Street, opposite Newhaven Harbour.
For anyone who hasn’t been down to Newhaven Harbour for a few years will notice these new pontoons, its home to more boats nowadays.
I thought it quite fitting to have the exhibition theme of boats…and birds seemed to be a welcome contrast. One side of the restaurant is birds, and the other boats, it works very well. The relaxed atmosphere of Porto & Fi allows you to enjoy the work while sitting back with a hot bevvie. The cake is to die for…and the Banofee Pie is the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to indulge, Wow! Check out the lemon meringue!!
The show is mostly original drawings and mixed media with screen printed layers. Below is the main focus, my mixed media drawing onto canvas, featuring two Aberdonian Trawlers. There is also a browser stocked up with plenty of unframed Edinburgh screenprints, boats and birds of course too 🙂
Cluster of small mixed media drawings of the birds.
A few snipets of the boat drawings below… See the full size images in the New Gallery section.
The show will continue throughout the summer, until 3rd September 2017.
The restaurant is open 7 days. Mon-Thurs 8am – 8pm, Fri- Sat 8am – 10pm and Sunday 10am – 6pm.
Thanks to Jillian, Andrew and Fi for their hard work on the opening night, the space was transformed and it looked absolutely stunning.
